Conferences
The Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics has become one of the
widely recognized, regular activities in the field of mathematical
physics and applied mathematics. It has been organized every year
since 1981 and has grown from a regional meeting to its present
international form, attracting leading physicists and mathematicians
from all over the world. Our group is only organizer of this Workshop.
The Workshop takes place in its home venue, in the heart of
the Białowieża National Park - a site of great natural beauty.
A number of social events, including campfire, an
excursion to the Białowieża forest and a banquet, are usually
organized during the week.
Let us note that European Mathematical Society Newsletter has published an article:
"Bialowieza: 30 years of success and inspiration" about our Workshops. You can read it at
EMS Newsletter.
The School on Geometric and Physics is a new addition to the Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics.
During the School we to organize several 3h courses by leading experts in mathematical physics for young researchers and graduate students.
The Department of Physics of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering,
the Doppler Institute of the Czech Technical University in Prague
and the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Białystok
organise Winter Conferences and Workshops for both diploma and PhD students.
The event, specialised in Mathematical Physics, takes place in Janské Lázně each year in January.
The aim of the Conference is to present through review lectures based on simple examples,
the mathematical principles of modern physical theories. In doing so,
it provides students an opportunity to present the results of their research work.
