Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics, Białowieża/Białystok

The Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics has become one of the widely recognized, regular activities in the field of mathematical physics and applied mathematics. It has been organized every year since 1981 and has grown from a regional meeting to its present international form, attracting leading physicists and mathematicians from all over the world. Our group is only organizer of this Workshop.

The Workshop takes place in its home venue, in the heart of the Białowieża National Park - a site of great natural beauty or in the campus of our University in Białystok. A number of social events, including campfire, an excursion and a banquet, are usually organized during the week.

Let us note that European Mathematical Society Newsletter has published an article: "Bialowieza: 30 years of success and inspiration" about our Workshops. You can read it at EMS Newsletter.

School on Geometric and Physics, Białowieża/Białystok

The School on Geometric and Physics is a new addition to the Workshop on Geometric Methods in Physics. During the School we to organize several 3h courses by leading experts in mathematical physics for young researchers and graduate students.

Student Conference Winter School on Mathematical Physics, Janské Lázně

The Department of Physics of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, the Doppler Institute of the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Białystok organize the Winter School for diploma and PhD students. The School takes place in the village Janské Lázně in the Giant Mountains (Karkonosze/Krkonoše), near Trutnov, Czech Republic, near the border with Poland.

The event, specialised in Mathematical Physics, takes place in Janské Lázně each year in January.

The aim of the Conference is to present through review lectures based on simple examples, the mathematical principles of modern physical theories. In doing so, it provides students an opportunity to present the results of their research work.
